After growing up in Los Angeles, Jennifer attended Arizona State University. She graduated with a degree in Theater Arts, then continued her studies under acting coach Stella Adler in New York. While in NYC, Jennifer appeared in the musical comedy Cabaret, as well as the soap operas, One Life to Live and All My Children. Back in LA, she appeared in a number of popular TV series, including Who’s the Boss?, Knot’s Landing, Santa Barbara, She's the Sheriff and The Tracy Ullman Show. Jennifer also landed a role in the 1986 comedy, Weekend Warriors.
Jennifer combined her screen talent with her aptitude for design as the host of Awesome Interiors on HGTV. During the ten season run of Awesome Interiors, she also logged a good share of frequent flier miles hosting The Travel Channel’s INNtimate Escapes. With Awesome Interiors, Jennifer brought viewers into homes with novel decor here in the States. On INNtimate Escapes, she explored intriguing inns and hotels of Europe, Australia and South America.
TV audiences got a chance to see the depth of Jennifer’s creativity as she personally reinvigorated anemic rooms on segments of the USA Network’s Before and After’noon movies. She also displayed her design talent on Leeza, Woman's Day Show and The Bob Saget Show. Her shopping tips on KTLA’s morning show and NBC’s The Other Half, earned her the nickname, “Bargain Babe”.
With another foray into the exotic motifs that can be found overseas, Jennifer produced and hosted Safari Style, a special for the Fine Living Network.
From 2004 to 2006, Jennifer served as the host and designer on the 1st five seasons ofA&E’s Find and Design.
Jennifer was a featured designer on 3 episodes of the Fine Living Network's Mail Order Makeover series.
